The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved a Rs 1,220-crore District Credit Action Plan for Srinagar for 2012-13 fiscal.
The details of the action plan for the next fiscal were given out at the district level consultative committee meeting chaired by the District Development Commissioner of Srinagar, Mr Baseer Ahmad Khan, and attended by lead bank officer, district officers and representatives of various financial institutions operating in the district, an official spokesman said today.
An amount of Rs 30.67 crore has been fixed for agriculture and allied sectors under the plan, while Rs 265.90 crore has been approved for small enterprises and Rs 27.50 crore for micro-credit.
The spokesman said Rs 20 crore has been approved for education, Rs 140 crore for housing and Rs 640 crore for non-priority sector. Besides, Rs 96.57 crore has been earmarked to accommodate unemployed educated youth of the district.
He said Rs 603.39 crore was disbursed for setting up 22,963 units by the financial institutions under the priority sectors, while Rs 363.68 crore was disbursed under non-priority sector during the current fiscal.
