The Karnataka Government on Thursday said it proposed to implement a separate sand mining policy from next year for coastal districts, enabling mining only from particular areas.
Speaking to newspersons here, the Higher Education Minister, Mr V. S. Acharya, said mining would be permitted only from areas where sand deposits obstruct a river. Use of machinery would not be permitted, he added.
