Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has requested all citizens to enrol themselves for the National Population Register. All permanent residents need to comply, and will be given a resident identity card with Aadhaar identification, an official spokesman quoted Chandy as saying.
Residents should voluntarily troop in to the enrolment camps on the specified day and seek to involve themselves in this massive enrolment exercise being taken up countrywide.
The Chief Minister also gave out a message to the public after officials called on him at Cliff House, his official residence here, to formally enrol him and his family by recording photographs, finger prints, iris images and address.
