The Kerala Government proposes to commence its SeaPlane service by September, the Chief Minister, Mr Ooomen Chandy, said here today.
Speaking at a function after laying the foundation of the office and boat terminal of Goshree Islands Development Authority, Mr Chandy said the inaugural service would coincide with the Emerging Kerala Global Connect slated to be held here from September 12.
The service is expected to give a fillip to the tourism sector in the state, crisscrossed by rivers and backwaters.
Mr Chandy said Dr Sam Pitroda, Advisor to the Prime Minister, would arrive at Thiruvananthapuram on May 28 to give final touches to the development plans in the state.
