The roadshow organised by Kerala Tourism in Saudi Arabia has elicited a good response, according to an official spokesman.

The three-day road show was held in Jeddah on May 6, at Riyadh the next day and at Dammam on the last, the spokesman said.

Saudi Arabia is now being targeted as one of the key future markets in West Asia for Kerala. The roadshow was the first of the events planned towards this goal.

The Minister for Tourism, Mr A.P. Anil Kumar, led the Kerala Tourism delegation, which also included the Tourism Secretary, Mr T.K. Manoj Kumar.

At least 65 firms attended the Jeddah event, the spokesman said. India’s Consul-General in Saudi Arabia, Mr Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, was also present at the event.

More than 100 flocked to the event in Riyadh, attended by the Indian Ambassador, Mr Hamid Ali Rao, the spokesman added.
