Dotted with waterfalls and herbal parks, Kolli Hills in Tamil Nadu’s Namakkal district will be developed as an eco-tourism destination at a cost of over Rs 2 crore.
The Government is making efforts to identify the areas with tourism potential that witnessed lesser number of tourists and develop them to ensure more visitors, a state government release here said.
Accordingly, Kolli Hills in Namakkal, marked by water falls, botanical and herbal parks and places of religious worship, among others, will be developed as an eco-tourism destination, the release said.
As part of this, infrastructure development and many other works, including putting in place amenities for tourists at two waterfalls, will be taken up and the Chief Minister, Ms Jayalalithaa, has sanctioned Rs 2.75 crore for it.
