The Maharashtra government plans to set up a township for senior citizens in Mumbai, Mr Sachin Ahir, Housing Minister, said here on Friday.
Inaugurating a 3-day retirement expo, organised by Dignity Foundation, Mr Ahir said the plan would be executed through the Maharashtra Housing Area Development Authority.
The government will also come out with a policy relating to the health and security of the elders, he said, while asking non-governmental agencies and corporate houses to join hands with the government to improve the lot of senior citizens in the State.
