Mr Sam Pitroda, adviser to Prime Minister, will visit the state once again to discuss developmental issues with ministers and officials here.

Mr Pitroda advises the Prime Minister on public infrastructure, information and innovation. He had come here for the first time earlier in January this year.

He has since been appointed as a ‘mentor’ to the state on developmental issues.

Mr Pitroda had proposed 10 major projects for the state to the Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, during the last visit.

The State Government had in turn asked him to work on these projects. He is returning with detailed project reports on these, Mr Chandy said here.

The proposed projects include:

Development of shipping along the coast and setting up of a chain of minor and major ports; establishment of a knowledge city; strengthening of vocational education supported by IT; a new health insurance format; and, holistic development of ayurveda. vinson.kurian@thehindu.co.in
