The Planning Commission today reviewed through video conferencing preparedness of the cash transfer scheme ahead of its roll out in 43 districts of the country from January 1.
“During the conference, senior officials from various states also apprised on preparedness of their part and infrastructure arrangements to be tied up for the roll-out of Cash Transfer Scheme,” an official statement said here.
The government has identified 34 government schemes for a rapid roll—out of Direct Cash Transfer Scheme in 43 districts of the country from January 1, 2013.
Planning Commission Secretary Sindhushree Khullar took the review meeting with 11 states and 6 Union Territories to discuss preparedness for a rapid roll-out of the scheme, it said.
The meeting was attended by secretaries of different ministries including school human resource development, social justice & empowerment, tribal affairs, minority affairs, health & family welfare, labour employment, women & child development and senior officials from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
