Developmental programmes announced in the Kerala Budget will be given administrative sanction during the first half of the financial year itself.
This will ensure time-bound implementation of these programmes, according to the Finance Minister, Mr K. M. Mani.
He said this during discussions with Cabinet colleagues on a roadmap for implementing these programmes coming under various ministries/departments.
The Minister alluded to various situations in the past where the implementation schedule has had to be compromised due to lagged clearances.
Schemes referred to various line departments have got delayed due to what the Minister said have been avoidable bottlenecks. The State Government intended to dispense with this scheme of things, Mr Mani added.
Among the Minister who took part in the discussions were: Mr P.K. Kunhalikkutty (Industries); Mr K.C. Joseph (Rural Development); Mr K. Babu (Fisheries); Mr V.K. Ibrahim Kunju (Public Works); Mr P.K. Abdul Rabb (Education); Mr A.P. Anil Kumar (Tourism); and Mr Anoop Jacob (Food and Civil Supplies).
