UK has asked India to expedite arbitration in the Vodafone and Cairn taxation disputes.
"UK Secretary of State for International Trade Liam Fox raised the issue in our meeting. The UK wants the cases to be expedited so that they reach early closure. I assured them that I would communicate the concern to the Finance Ministry," Commerce & Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said addressing a press conference on Monday after her bilateral meeting with Fox.
India voiced its concern over the increase in visa fee for students and the rise in restrictions and regulations that Indian students have recently started encountering in the UK.
"The UK Secretary of State did not agree that there has been a drop in the number of visas issued to Indian students," Sitharaman said adding that India got its concern registered nevertheless.
