Traders across the country claimed that the GST portal did not work throughout Saturday and have demanded extension of the Goods and Services tax (GST) filing date.
Traders were unable to file Form3B on Saturday, which is summary return of transactions made in July, for which August 20, is the last date for filing returns, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said in a release, demanding that the government extend the date.
“It is also reported that banks are reluctant in receiving tax payments since they have no information as to how the entries and under which head they will accept such payments and without tax payment Form 3B will not be accepted by the portal,” CAIT said, adding that it has received feedback on this from across the country.
