Reliance Infra, NTPC and National Fertilisers Ltd are among the companies that have been allocated gas from ONGC's fields on the West and East Coast.
The Petroleum Ministry on September 30, allocated 7.23 million standard cubic metres of natural gas from ONGC's nomination fields (these are fields that were given to the company on nomination basis before the exploration licensing rounds came into existence), a Petroleum Ministry official said.
Gas has been allocated to 19 units, the official added. The gas from fields in Western offshore will be priced at $5.25 per million British thermal units (mBtu) and from the Krishna-Godavari basin at $4.75 per mBtu.
Cos benefitting
The beneficiary companies include Spectrum Power, GVK Industries, IFFCO's Kalol and Aonla units, Tata Chemical's Babrala plant, Indraprastha Power, and Ratnagiri Gas and Power Pvt Ltd.
Some of the other companies that stand to benefit include Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertiliser, Kribhco's Hazira unit.
ONGC is expected to produce a total of 0.63 mscmd of gas from the KG Basin and 6.605 mscmd from Western offshore fields like the C-Series, Bandra Formation, North Tapti and Vasai East fields.
