The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed Pravin Srivastava, Additional Director General, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, as Chief Statistician of India, and Secretary of the Statistics Ministry.
This appointment comes into effect from the date of his assuming charge of the post till the date of his superannuation (August 31, 2020) or until further orders, whichever is earlier, according to an order issued by the Personnel Ministry.
