The country’s exports during April-June 2012 have shrunk by around two per cent due to the demand slowdown in markets abroad, including the US and Europe, the Commerce and Industry Minister Mr Anand Sharma, said on Thursday.
The shipments during April-June 2011 were $77 billion. The Ministry will officially release the export data for June and the first quarter on Friday. Mr Sharma said the fall in exports is manageable and anticipated, adding that the Centre has brought out measures to help exporters adopt a market and product diversification strategy.
