Rajiv Kumar, a 1984 batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre, on Friday assumed charge as Secretary in the Department of Financial Services (DFS) in the Finance Ministry.
He has come in the place of Anjuly Chib Duggal, who superannuated on Thursday.
Prior to this elevation, Kumar was Special Secretary and Establishment Officer in the Ministry of Personnel.
