The head of India liaison office of Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone, Mr Bissoon Surnam, has invited Kerala businessmen to look at the prospect of expanding their business to the UAE.

Addressing a three-day interactive session, Mr Surnam said they had set up a platform for entrepreneurs to set up business in the UAE. The procedures are simple, fast, transparent and cost-effective, he said.

RAK FTZ has developed an array of first-class business centres across the UAE, which offer a wide range of business solutions to meet the evolving and ever-growing business demands, he said.

Mr Jithu Alex Peter, business investment consultant, and Mr Shaji Parameswaran, sales executive, RAK FTZ, explained the process to set up new ventures in the UAE. With an initial investment of only Rs 2.5 lakh, Indian businessmen have the opportunity to set up an office in UAE. They pointed out that 100 per cent capital and profit repatriation is allowed and there is no tax on income.

The three-day interactive sessions, followed by B2B interactive meeting sessions, was organised in Kochi in association with Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry to help entrepreneurs in Kerala who wish to open business projects in RAK.

Mr Savio Mathew, secretary, KCCI, said Kerala Chamber always welcomed such initiatives that would help entrepreneurs in the State. Entrepreneurs from different parts of Kerala are attending the sessions.
