OMCs extend the deadline to surrender by 15 days

Customers holding multiple LPG connections and not yet surrendered the extra connection have got some respite from the public sector oil marketing companies. The companies have extended the deadline by 15 days for doing so.

OMCs have also eased the process for transfer of existing LPG connection among family members (during lifetime) or to the legal heir (in case of death) of the registered consumer, besides easing regularisation of LPG connection held in someone else’s name but with original documents.

The deadline for submission of KYC (Know Your Customer) details in the prescribed form along with Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) by multiple LPG connection-holders has now been extended till November 15, the companies said in a statement.

Earlier, the last date for submission of the details was fixed as October 31.

“Only those customers whose names appear in the respective OMC Transparency Portal as identified using /holding multiple LPG connections (the list is also available with respective LPG distributor) need to submit the KYC details along with POI and POA before the revised deadline of November 15,” the statement said.

Customers whose names do not appear in the transparency portal of oil companies, or in the list available with your distributor, as Multiple Connection Holders need not, submit the KYC details, the statement added. Customers holding a single LPG connection need not, therefore, rush to their distributors to submit their KYC details as they are not required to do so as of now.

The transparency portals of the respective OMC can be accessed through their websites, www.indane.co.in , www.ebharatgas.com  and  www.hindustanpetroleum.com .

KYC details will also be required to be submitted along with POI and POA in the following cases: (a) Registering/booking for new LPG connections, (b) cases involving transfer from one distributor to another, (c) regularisation of existing LPG connections, and (d) re-activation of blocked/dormant LPG connections.

There is also proviso for regularisation of LPG equipment held without original documents in the new scheme launched by OMCs.  Details for all the above cases can be obtained from the respective LPG distributor, as well as from the OMC websites, the statement said.
