The Consumer price index based inflation for July 2014 came in at 7.96 percent for July 2014, higher than 7.46 percent recorded in same month last fiscal.
The retail inflation rate spike for July could largely be attributed to the spurt in fruits and vegetable prices, which rose 22.48 percent and 16.88 percent for the month under review.
