Royal Bahrain Hospital, a venture of the KIMS healthcare group in Bahrain, will open for service on Thursday.
The Bahrain Minister for Health, Mr Sadiq Al-Shehabi, will inaugurate the facility, a spokesperson for the KIMS healthcare group, said here.
Second venture
Royal Bahrain Hospital is the KIMS group’s second venture in Bahrain after KIMS Bahrain Medical Centre and its sixth project in the GCC region.
The group’s flagship hospital is the 650-bed quaternary care hospital, the Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), with facilities in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi.
The group, whose operations in West Asia are based out of Bahrain, has also presence in Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Dubai.
Royal Bahrain Hospital is a custom-built hospital in the private sector in Bahrain. It boasts of modern equipment with integrated software and run on latest technologies.
It also houses what is purportedly the only operational sleep lab in the kingdom; has advanced laser technology for cosmetic surgery, and 16-slice CT scan and 4-D ultrasound machines.
Special status
Royal Bahrain Hospital is a six million-dinar project promoted by Bahraini and Indian businessmen.
The Economic Development Board (EDB), which has played a key role in the setting up of the hospital, has conferred on it a special Indo-Bahraini project status.
Among those attending the ceremony are Mr Ahmed Jawahery, President of Royal Bahrain Hospital; Dr M.A. Mohammed, Managing Director, KIMS Middle East; Dr M.I. Sahadulla, Chairman and Managing director, and Mr E.M. Najeeb, Executive Director, KIMS.
Ambassadors of various countries will also attend, representing the diverse profile of patients who avail themselves of Royal Bahrain Hospital’s services.
