Sahara India Pariwar has entered into the housing and infrastructure sector of Bangladesh and will operate through Sahara Matribhumi Unnayan Corporation Ltd, a newly formed company.
The company has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Housing and Public Works (MoPW) of Bangladesh Government, to invest in the development of housing industry in Bangladesh.
It will conceptualise, design and plan a new city near Dhaka, i.e. Notun Dhaka (New Dhaka) and will build affordable housing for low-income groups with housing finance support for majority applicants, as well as conceptualise, design and plan various integrated satellite townships under the MoPW.
The company also has plans to enter the power and healthcare sector later.
