Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal has ruled out preferential treatment to State-owned power companies for signing fuel supply pact with Coal India.

“There will be single FSA for both private and public parties...power companies have agreed to sign it within a month,’’ Jaiswal said indicating an end to CIL -NTPC row over fuel supply agreement. Though the private sector mostly entered the pact, a large section of public sector led by NTPC is yet to sign the agreement.

Jaiswal was talking to reporters here in the city on the sidelines of an event ‘World Confluence of Humanity, Power and Sustainability; organised by SREI Foundation.

According to Jaiswal, the Group of Ministers are supposed to “meet within the next few days” to finalise the draft coal regulator bill.

“The GoM will meet within the next few days to decide on the coal regulator bill,” he told reporters.

He, however, said that there has been no decision so far regarding price pooling.
