The Staff Selection Commission will be conducting recruitment to fill up 13,708 posts of constables in Central police organisations.

The recruitment in Andhra Pradesh would account for about one-sixth of the total recruitment of over 79,000 constables in the country during 2012, Mr N.K Raghupathi, Chairman, Staff Selection Commission, told presspersons here on Wednesday.

The notification for the posts would be released by the Commission on December 3 and the last date for submission of application is January 4.

Written examination

“The written examination will be held on April 22, 2012. We are also exploring the possibility of conducting the exam in tri-lingual mode with Hindi, English and the regional language of the States,'' Mr Raghupathi said.

The Commission is taking special measures to ensure the amiability of applications and for conducting the exam in rural and naxal-affected areas in association with the State Government.

The Central police forces deployed in the regions could be utilised for the purpose, he added.

Recruitment process

The recruitment process for constables would comprise a written examination, physical standard/physical endurance test and medical examination.

Candidates aged between 18 and 23 years and who have passed class 10th or matriculation are eligible to apply, Mr Raghupati said.
