Steel consumption would continue to grow despite the prevailing situation in parts of the world, claimed Tata Steel Managing Director, Mr H.M. Nerurkar.
“Yes, the steel consumption will continue to grow even if we achieve GDP growth at 7 per cent,” he replied when asked about the prospect of steel sector in the prevailing situation.
About the steel prices, Mr Nerurkar admitted that he was expecting downturn in view of the slowdown in part of the world but due to the exchange rate, it did not happen.
