Swiss Solar Technology Consortium has agreed to partner with the Andhra Pradesh Government by setting up a committee and work on smart cities initiative.
During an interaction with the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum meet at Davos with 10 cleantech companies, a part of the consortium, several areas in clean technology such as solar power projects were discussed.
A memorandum of understanding is expected to be signed shortly, a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office mentioned.
Companies based in Switzerland, a hotbed for solar photovoltaic innovation and energy efficiency, have the potential to work on renewable energy projects, including solar energy and wind energy, solid waste management, water management and smart grids.
A joint committee will be set up shortly between the AP Department of Industries and Commerce and the Swiss consortium to work out a master plan in key technology clusters of smart cities, smart villages, renewable hybrid energy solutions and water management, the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister highlighted the massive potential in Andhra Pradesh for various projects.
