A recent State-level traders meet at Tiruchi has formed a joint action committee to take up with the Election Commission the issue of search and seizure of cash from traders on transit in vehicles, to find a solution.
According to a press release, the meet has sought a response from the Election Commission through interaction with the committee by Tuesday, failing which, has resolved to conduct an agitation against the Election Commission.
A State-level one-day hartal will be observed on March 29, to manifest the protest of the traders. If the Election Commission ignored the peaceful approach to solve the problems, trade and industry will boycott the forthcoming Assembly election, the press release stated.
