Public sector oil marketing companies are facing under-recovery of ₹18.51 a litre on sales of PDS (public distribution system) kerosene at below market rates as on July 1, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
On June 1, the under-recovery or the loss made on sale of PDS kerosene was ₹20.10 a litre.
Meanwhile, the cash subsidy under direct benefit transfer of LPG scheme stands at ₹190.68 a cylinder for the Delhi market and varies from state to state. On June 1, this was at ₹208.68 a cylinder.
“Under-recovery for the full year 2014-15 was ₹72,314 crore. The figure was ₹1,39,869 crore in the 2013-14 fiscal,” the statement added.
The daily international crude oil price of the Indian basket (the various sources of crude oil bought by Indian refineries) was $60.43 per barrel on June 30 as against $59.95 a barrel on June 29.
