The Centre on Monday said that the maximum number of complaints regarding irregularities of all types in implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) had come from Uttar Pradesh.
“Out of a total 2,574 complaints from different States as on November 10, Uttar Pradesh alone accounts for 999,” the Minister of State for Rural Development, Mr Pradeep Jain, said in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha.
He said national-level monitors had been deputed in 71 cases pertaining to Uttar Pradesh and in 65 cases reports had been received and sent to the State governments for corrective action.
