We are going to work on the 12 th Plan on the basis of a 9 per cent growth target, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman, Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, said at the conclusion of the 56 th National Development Council meeting here on Saturday.
Responding to a question at a press conference on the possibility of a downward revision following the Prime Minister's remarks on the target's feasibility, he said there was no prospect of revising the growth target as of now.
Earlier, in his concluding remarks, the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, said most States were fiscally strong enough to address their own specific problems.
