XLRI, Jamshedpur, has launched a global MBA programme in collaboration with leading institutes from the US and China.

The institute has entered into partnership with Weatherhead School of Management of Case Western University, Cleveland, and School of Economics & Management of Tongji University, in Shanghai, China.

According to an XLRI press statement, the full-time two-year residential global MBA programme will commence from August 2013. The programme fees for the two-year course would be around Rs 25 lakh.

The global MBA programme will have batch strength of 60 with each B-School admitting 20 students from its country. “Each of the partner schools will now begin the process of admitting its quota of 20 students from its home country,” the release said.

While XLRI would select students based on XAT’s performance, Weatherhead School of Management of Case Western University will bank on GMAT and School of Economics & Management of Tongji University will select candidates based on its own selection criteria.

The programme will be held in four parts with three of the parts being taught in China, India and the US respectively. The course will also have faculty members from all the three B-schools.

According to J. Singh, chairman, International Relations, XLRI, the programme has been designed to give students from the three countries an experience in living and learning together.

“Apart from formal classroom learning, they will have a first-hand opportunity to explore and understand the socio-economic-cum-political dimensions of life in these countries,” he said.
