A Parliamentary standing committee on science and technology, environment and forests led by Ashwani Kumar visited the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre and the ISRO Inertial Systems Unit here on Thursday.
The panel expressed deep appreciation for the achievements of the Department of Space. The successful launch of the Mars Orbiter has not only made the country proud but also enabled the department to carve a niche for itself, it noted.
MC Dathan, Director of Space Centre, briefed the committee about the ongoing activities. The panel later visited major facilities and the control centre at Thumba. It will visit the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre and Indian Institute of Space Technology on Friday.
