Two exit polls have predicted that the Congress will be the single largest party during the Karnataka elections, results for which will be out on May 15.
Axis Survey has predicted 106-118 seats for the Congress; BJP 79-92 seats and for the JD (S) 35-39 seats. VMR has predicted Congress to get 90-103 seats and the BJP 80-93 seats and the JD (S) 31-39 seats.
Congress won 122 seats, the BJP and the JD (S) won 40 seats each during the 2013 elections.
During the 2018 elections, there were about 5 crore voters with 2,654 candidates contesting for 222 seats.
PTI reports on exit polls
The exit polls run by Republic TV-Jan Ki Baat and ABP-C Voter predicted that the BJP will emerge as the largest party by getting 95-114 and 97-109 seats respectively.
They put the Congress’ tally at 73-82 and 87-99 respectively with the former prime minister H D Deve Gowda-led JD (S) predicted to get 32-43 and 21-30 seats.
News X predicted 102-110, 72-78 and 35-39 seats for the BJP, Congress and JD(S).
India Today predicted the vote share of the Congress and the BJP at 39 per cent and 35 per cent respectively. The respective prediction by Republic TV for the two parties was 36 and 38.25 per cent.
