Former Cabinet Secretary K.M. Chandrasekhar is slated to appear before the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on spectrum allocations on Thursday.
He will give evidence to the panel on the 2G scam and will answer queries from the members on the overall involvement of the Cabinet Secretariat in the 2G spectrum issue. Last year, the Public Accounts Committee had also tried to gather evidence from Chandrasekhar. But due to differences among members, particularly because of the reservation expressed by Congress members, it could not interact with Chandrasekhar and former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, T.K.A Nair. Both, however, had submitted written statements to the panel.
The BJP members in the panel, who are abstaining from the proceedings due to differences with JPC Chairman, P.C Chacko, had demanded summoning of Chandrasekhar, Nair and the Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister, Pulok Chatterjee.
