The Communication and IT Minister, Mr Kapil Sibal, on Friday said that 3G agreement between private operators is not permitted under current rules.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event, the Telecom Minister said that while consumers are allowed to roam, operators are not allowed to roam. This comes even as the operators are set to meet the Minister on the issue.
According to DoT rules, operators will have to pay a penalty for the alleged violation. The 3G spectrum can also be revoked.
