Blackberry has launched a new smartphone for a maximum retail price of Rs 15,990.
Christened ‘Blackberry 9720’, the smartphone is equipped with a 512 MB RAM and a removable microSD memory card–slot. It comes with a 2.8” touch screen and a five mega pixel camera, as per a company press statement. However, it runs the Blackberry 7.1 operating system. The company is also planning to launch the smartphone in other emerging markets.
BlackBerry does not have any equated monthly instalment (EMI) plans for this model yet. It has EMI schemes for BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Curve 9220 devices.
Authorized retailers will start selling the device in India from September 14, the company said.
