Approximately 1,000 employees will take the programme

Cognizant has adopted the Claritas Investment Certificate programme of CFA institute.

First in line

Cognizant was the first corporation in the technology and business process services industry to adopt the programme, which is designed to give a clear understanding of the investment industry to all professional disciplines in financial services outside of investment roles, according to a release issued here on Monday.

Industry knowledge

Approximately 1,000 professionals of Cognizant will take the certification programme over the next two years to build knowledge and sense of responsibility around the investment industry.

Candidates will require around 100 hours of study time and will need to pass an examination in order to be awarded the certificate.

“The Claritas will help our professionals expand their understanding and knowledge of industry functions, relationships and their professional roles, enabling them to make better decisions and provide superior counsel to our clients,” Sumithra Gomatam, President, Industry Solutions, Cognizant said.

“At a time when the financial services industry is striving to restore trust, fostering a culture of professional best practices and ethics across all industry touchpoints, including in support sectors, will go a long way toward increasing public confidence,” Paul Smith, CFA, Managing Director for Asia Pacific, CFA Institute said.
