The city-based Edutor Technologies has launched a handheld home learning device for students.

The device, Edutor Advantage e40, is designed to give students a measurable home learning advantage, Mr Ram Gollamudi, Chief Executive Officer, Edutor Technologies, told PTI.

“Advantage e40 user interface is very intuitive and easy to use for children (aged 7 to 15 years). The touchscreen device is preloaded with a student’s class-specific, curriculum-aligned content with an option to upgrade as the student moves to higher classes,” he said.

In addition to subjects like Maths, Science, Social Studies and English, the device features extra-curricular activities like the basics of cricket, yoga, karate, spoken English content and Wikipedia topics.

“Our intent is to offer a completely out-of-box homegrown solution which will become a perfect home learning tool for students and supplements what is being taught in the class in an effective manner,” Mr Gollamudi said.

Advantage e40 enables students to practice tests, make self assessment as well as take corrective actions to sharpen their learning outcomes, the CEO said.

The device, which costs around Rs 1,650, is currently designed for CBSE students from Classes III to X.

“We expect to release the versions for ICSE, IGCSE, SSC (state boards) students in the coming few months and expect to earn a revenue of Rs 25-30 crore in the next academic year,” he said.
