Flytxt, a technology leader in mobile marketing and advertising, is organising a developer-centric event focused on Hadoop technologies here on Wednesday.
Hadoop is a cloud-based technology ecosystem that enables companies to handle large volumes of data with minimal time lag using fault-tolerant distributed computing techniques.
Hadoop experts from Flytxt will interact with developers to discuss and learn the Hadoop ecosystem, a Flytxt spokesperson said here.
Flytxt is one of the pioneers in adopting the Hadoop platform for the telecom industry with its product offerings that enable brands and advertisers to reach out to mobile subscribers effectively. Being a technology provider for telecom operators, Flytxt is one of the companies that handle large volumes of data. Under such a situation, there is a need for newer and better scalable platforms to manage and process the incredible amount of data, the company spokesperson said.
PROMISING TECHNOLOGY
Hadoop is definitely a promising technology from this perspective. “This platform has already been adopted by Web technology companies like Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn,” said Mr Jobin Wilson, Architect, Big Data Analytics and Automation at Flytxt.
“In the mobile technology space, especially around advanced subscriber data analytics and subscriber fingerprinting, we are yet to see the kind of exponential growth that search engine companies experienced in 1999. I think we are very well poised to meet this challenge with our expertise in this game-changing technology.”
According to Mr Rajesh Matachan, the Vice-president, Human Resources, Flytxt, the workshop will play a vital role in showcasing the work being done in Hadoop, which is easily the technology of the future.
TO DOUBLE WORKFORCE
“We look to doubling our Hadoop workforce in the next two years. This workshop will help showcase future opportunities in the technology,” he added.
Flytxt believes that Hadoop ecosystem will help manage the mobile operators' inventories more effectively, the spokesperson said.
India will see a surge in Hadoop adoption rate over the next five years, not just in Web and mobile technology companies, but in media, the Government sector, banks and insurance verticals, she added.
