HP has announced the ‘HP Converged Cloud' that combines the environments of private, public, managed and the traditional cloud models.

This hybrid environment can be used by enterprises to incorporate cloud services into their existing technology.

“There is an increasing adoption of the cloud. The cloud computing industry is around $69 billion globally and about $ 2-3 billion in India. The seamless integration will ensure more adoption into this technology,” said Ms Neelam Dhawan, Managing Director, HP India.

The HP Converged Cloud services will be chargeable as per usage or the number of users plugged on to it. Payments would be on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. This is expected to bring a shift to the opex model from the capex model.

“These cloud services would be helpful in the healthcare, insurance, education and retail sectors. Local application developers will also be beneficiaries of the cloud,” said Mr Santanu Ghose, Country Head, Converge Infrastructure Solutions.
