Following its acquisition of Randstad's payroll business in India from Ma Foi Randstad (Ma Foi Consulting Solutions) in January, HR BPO major Automatic Data Processing (ADP) will look to extend its products and services in the Indian market, in the areas of performance management, talent management and training and development.

Speaking to Business Line , Mr Don McGuire, Managing Director, ADP UK, who will be overseeing Indian operations, said the $10-billion ADP continues to grow in its home market, the US, which accounts for 90 per cent of business.

“The US continues to be the largest market, followed by France and Canada. There is still a lot of growth potential in the US, but we expect the international business to grow faster, driven by India, China and Brazil,” he added.

Though the 1949-born company started operations under the ADP label in India only this January, nearly 6,000 of its 51,000 staff have been based here, handling clients in the US and the UK markets for seven years now.

Team expansion

The teams are in Pune and Hyderabad, and would grow in tune with the growth of business in the US, Mr McGuire explained.

The payroll business acquired from Ma Foi Consulting in India has 350 clients and over 250 associates. Globally, ADP claims to manage human resource, payroll, tax and benefits administration solutions to over 5.7 lakh clients.

The payroll outsourcing business in India has among its clientele IT, ITeS, KPO, manufacturing and service sector companies, said Mr Rahul Goyal, President, Ma Foi Consulting Solutions, who continues to head the business in India after ADP's acquisition.

Mr McGuire added, “Traditionally, IT and ITeS firms are keen to outsource; they understand the benefits of outsourcing the function to a specialist. From traditional chartered accountancy firms, one sees a shift to outsourcing to organised players.”

ADP has acquired a number of companies in the last two years. Among these are UK-based OneClickHR plc, whose fully owned subsidiary Vizual Business Tools has a development centre in Chennai. In November 2010, it acquired Byte Software House in Italy, and in the same year acquired Logica Netherland's BV's payroll business.
