Hewlett-Packard India has launched PageWide Technology, a range of inkjet-based large format printers that deliver prints five times faster than that of its competitor, said Mahesh Soni, Country Manager, Designjet, Graphics Solutions Business, HP. The new technology consists of over two lakh nozzles on a stationary print bar and spans the width of page. This enables users to produce variety of black-and-white and colour applications such as drawing, maps and posters. “This new technology will disrupt the $1.3 billion production printing market currently dominated LED printers,” he told newspersons. HP will offer these printers on contract service to clients who can also pay based on the ink used. The cost will be ₹29 per ml ML of ink.
