Infosys has launched a cloud-based version of its Clinical Trial Supply Management (CTSM) solution that aims to improve efficiencies and supply drugs at reduced costs. In a statement, the company said this will improve collaboration between pharmaceutical companies and contract research organisations (CROs), which new solution helps life science companies enhance efficiency of clinical trial processes by driving greater collaboration between these stakeholders. Infosys officials said that it also helps ensure the timely supply of drugs to patients at reduced costs. As a result, enterprises can price products competitively while adhering to the stringent standards required to bring products safely to consumers. The new cloud-based version of the CTSM solution is an enhancement to the existing on-premise version of the CTSM solution – CTSM Add-On Suite 2.2 by Lodestone, a company that Infosys bought out.

Manish Tandon, Senior Vice President and Global Head – Life Sciences & Services, Infosys said:

“The new cloud-based version of our CTSM solution helps life sciences enterprises gain critical competitive advantages through cost savings and productivity gains via efficient management of their clinical trial supply chains.”

This solution covers demand and supply planning as well as distribution across clinical sites, company officials added. The on-premise version of the solution has been successfully managing clinical trial processes at a number of large global pharmaceutical companies across the US and Europe. For Infosys, the retail and life sciences vertical contributed 24.3 per cent to its revenues, behind BFSI and manufacturing in the last fiscal.
