Kaspersky Lab, on Saturday made a national launch of the 2012 version of its anti-virus and internet security.
“The all-new Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 and Kaspersky Anti-virus 2012 incorporate the most advanced and effective protection technologies,” Kaspersky’s managing director (South Asia) Mr Altaf Halde told reporters.
Company Director (channel sales) Mr Jagannath Patnaik said the global turnover of Kaspersky, having presence in 29 countries, stood at $2 billion last fiscal.
Speaking about its Indian set-up, Mr Patnaik said the turnover was Rs 50 crore last year which was expected to be double this calendar year.
To a question, he said that the rate of piracy of software was a high 70 per cent in India. Company sources said that roughly 35,000 new malicious programmes appeared each day. “There are no signatures for these new threats, meaning innovative methods are required to detect them.
“Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 and Anti-virus 2012 can effectively neutralise new threats using non-signature-based behavioural analysis of suspicious programmes.”
