The International Centre for Free and Open Source Software (Icfoss) based here is launching a series of consultations on the ‘Future direction of free and open source software (Foss)' as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations.
The first of the series of consultations will get under way at Technopark here on Tuesday, according to Mr Satish Babu, Director, Icfoss.
Representatives of different Governmental organisations such as the National Informatics Centre, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Kerala State IT Mission, Indian Institute for Information Technology and Management-Kerala, the IT@School, the Centre for Development of Imaging Technology are expected to attend.
Foss community groups and non-governmental agencies such as Swatantra Malayalam Computing and ‘Space;' and representatives of the media, academia, students, Foss-based businesses and professional societies such as the Computer Society of India also will be represented.
Kerala was the first State to launch Foss-based interventions. .
