Software major Microsoft India is carrying out a project to improve the employability of retired Army jawans. Called as project Kshamta (capacity), it aims to enhance their capacity and competence, Bhaskar Pramanik, the company chairman, said here on Wednesday.
“Currently, the project is restricted to Delhi only. But we are looking to extend it to other States and other areas such as the paramilitary forces,” he added.
The training module, created by Microsoft India, is backed by certification from reputed institutions, and necessary arrangements are also being made to help the individuals secure a job post retirement.
According to company officials, a total of 19,000 jawans have been trained since 2009, out of which 2,200 are master trainers. The programme aims to impact a total of 100,000 jawans by 2015.
