MindTree begins work on Bhubaneswar campus

Mid-tier IT firm MindTree has started work on its 20-acre campus, ‘MindTree Kalinga', at the Chandaka Special Economic Zone in Bhubaneswar, Odisha (Orissa).

Students from various local educational institutions poured earth specially brought in from many different places in the world to the base of a Krishna Ficus tree at the proposed site, a press statement said.

“MindTree believes Odisha is the emerging hub of the east. We are looking forward to building a world-class centre here that will train and deploy some of the best minds of the eastern region. We will engage with the academic community here to create a vibrant eco-system,” Mr Subroto Bagchi, Vice-Chairman of MindTree, said in a press statement.

According to the statement, the 20-acre campus has been designed based on ancient architectural principles behind local temples by Bangalore-based architects Chandavarkar & Associates.

The campus is being built in a phase-wise manner and the first phase of 200,000 square feet will be completed in 2013.
