Mozilla to launch browser for iPad

Mozilla plans to disrupt the iOS platform by introducing a browser called Junior for iPad.

Junior has a full screen interface and doesn't use tabs. One useful feature is that it allows users to create personal accounts, which is good for users who share iPads with family members, because their browsing history is safe.

Mozilla has seen its fortunes wane in the last year. According to StatCounter.com, Firefox has seen its market share dip from 29.29 per cent in May 2011 to 25.55 per cent in May 2012. In the same period, Google's Chrome rose from 19.36 per cent to 32.43 per cent.

While Mozilla's move to iPad will give users a new alternative, it will have to improve its PC offering if it wants to make a difference.
