Nasscom has signed a memorandum of understanding with Healthcare Federation of India (Nathealth) to electronically deliver healthcare services in the country.
The MoU, which was signed at the Nasscom India Leadership Forum (NILF) today, aims to support the Government’s plan to achieve its ‘Universal Health Coverage’ goals for India.
The goal of universal health coverage is to ensure that all people obtain the health services they need without suffering financial hardship when paying for them.
“The idea is that healthcare cannot go to next level without IT. So, there is an opportunity for businesses to collaborate,” said Shivinder Singh, Vice-Chairman, Fortis Healthcare.
R Chandrashekhar, President of Nasscom, said the MoU would enable creation of policy-legal frameworks in addition to developing joint policy advocacy outcomes.
Anjan Bose, Secretary-General of Nathealth, said that within a week, teams from both Nasscom and Nathealth will decide on the priority areas of the partnership.
Organ transplant is a nightmare in the country, because of lack of organised data. Healthcare is plagued by lack of streamlined data.
“We need to leverage the power of analytics, cloud and big data to ensure delivery of healthcare of services to places where doctors cannot go to,” said Bose.
