Tech Mahindra’s SAP practice has got a new head in Krishna Kumaraswamy even as a key leader in the team, Sohil Mehta put in his papers this month to pursue other career options.

Kumaraswamy has taken over the SAP practice reins a few months after Satbir Kohli had put in the papers early this year.

The practice generates revenues of $150 million to the company and is considered a strong point of the company, with about 5,500 employees working in the team. The company hopes to get at least one-tenth of the $5-billion revenues it targets by 2015. But the practice received a set back when the Satyam old timer Satbir quit.

Kumaraswamy is one of the several Satyam older timers that are coming back after things settled down in the crisis-hit company. After putting in seven years, he had quit the company in April 2009 just around the time when Tech Mahindra bought the Hyderabad-based company. He was heading SAP services then.

He joined Defiance Technologies as Vice-President and Business Head (Enterprise Solutions Practice – Americas) ever since, before making a come back.

Sohil Mehta quits

Meanwhile, the company suffered a setback as Sohil Mehta, a key SAP practice leader, decided to quit the company last month. He has been handling important roles in SAP competency in the last 10 years.

Sources in the company said Sohil Mehta is actively considering a couple of options, including an offer in Big5 consulting firm.
