Struggling phonemaker Nokia has partnered with Facebook to drive its growth in the smartphone segment. The Finland-based company announced that the Asha 205 series of phones will include a Facebook button that will help users to access the world’s largest social networking Web site. This, according to industry watchers, would give Nokia access to four crore India Facebook users.
According to Nokia officials, usage of Internet through smartphones has surpassed accessing from PCs and Facebook, with its second largest user base in India is one of the most accessed Web sites. “We foresee that the future users of the Internet will access it through phones and our Asha series of phones aims to capitalise on this trend,” said Viral Oza, Director Marketing, Nokia.
